Clearly I cannot tell teim (or spell)

According to Facebook, my site is "down for maintenance, and should be available again in a few hours." Facebook is "sorry for any inconvenience this has caused."

That note has been on my Facebook page since last Sunday. It is now Wednesday. According to MY mental math, that is way more than "a few hours." Facebook is also "aware of this problem and our technical team is working hard to correct it."

You would think, since I cannot waste as much time farting around on Facebook like I normally do, that I would be getting tons more stuff done around the house. Which would be a good thing, since I am leaving at 5am for a five-day scrapbooking retreat in Ohio. (Hello, beautiful autumn colors, I cannot wait to see you again .....)

But, no. Instead I am obsessively checking my computer, possibly even more than normal, to see if Facebook is "fixed" yet. Because I cannot bear that the lives of my "friends" are going on as usual and I do not know what they are doing. (Nosy, much? Why yes I am.) Thank goodness I don't play farmtown or mafia wars, because at this point my crops would have withered and died and my mafia gangsters would have .... would have .... well, whatever abandoned mafia gangters do.

Facebook, come back to me. Or at least teach me how you tell time, so I can know when "a few hours" will be.

I get that message sometimes if I got to www.facebook.com but I never get it if I go to http://www.facebook.com/home.php - I'm sure there are lots of people who understand the difference. I'm not one of them, but I hope it works for you!

When I get that message, I access facebook through my tweetdeck and it always comes up. Plus, on tweet deck, I don't have to view all the extra crap, just people's status. Because, I, like you, don't want to join Mafia Wars!

I think I would cry if that happened to me. How are you surviving?

Be so very grateful you are not on Farmtown (Mafia Wars, not so sure about). Once I got the hang of that game, I was a full-blown addict. Now I've pretty much conquered it, but I try to warn anyone that is new to Facebook or thinking of joining: STAY AWAY FROM FARMTOWN! Seriously. Will need some 12 step programs pretty soon. Have a great time in Ohio!

I use to get comments like that when I used Internet Explorer, but once I switched to Mozilla Firefox, I stopped getting them.

My brothers site said it ''could not be found'' for about five days this week! Don't know about you, but I've been having major problems with FB lately, lots and lots of error messages.. My brother didn't check into it, didn't care at all, but it was driving me nuts that his page was gone! Then.. it miraculousy re-appeared. Not sure what's up with that.

Do you accept your blog reader/stalkers (ahem) as friends on FB?

Have fun on your weekend.. I'll miss your updates while you're gone!

I usually dont have alot of problems with Facebook. Its the apps that are always down. My internet was out for like 3 days because the construction crew took out the lines by accident. I was soooo close to going to Burger King to use their wifi so I could harvest my crops on Farmtown. Hope it starts working again soon! I feel your pain!

I get intermittent messages on FB, too, sometimes w/my page and sometimes when I'm trying to view others. Don't know what the problem is, and I wish they would fix it!

Hope you brought warm clothes to OH - only supposed to be in the 50s over the weekend. Are you coming to Dayton? I need some uninterrupted scrapbook time...

I would go crazy if my facebook page was down for that long! Hope you get it back soon. Have fun scrapbooking. I need to do some more of that.

Well, that's weird. I went to your FB page, and sure enough, it's still down ("Profile Unavailable - Sorry, this profile is not available at the moment. Please try again shortly.) My FB chat was really slow the other night, but it doesn't make sense for it to be down days on end.

Is there anything we can do to help your cause, like sending FB messages from your friends to get you up and going again?

Just to clarify . . . when I suggested "sending FB messages from your friends" I meant for your friends to send messages TO Facebook.

When I re-read what I wrote, it sounded like I meant that we should send messages to your friends through FB.

Did I just ramble, or does that make sense at all?

FB shut me down for a week! I mean POOF I no longer had a profile NOTHING. I emailed a friend who is an internet sleuth and he got me the emails of the higher ups at FB. And FB does not just put those emails out there for us to contact them. I emailed all of them and magically my account was restored the following morning. If you want the emails, I have them saved.
